Hopefully we can get through September without any more hurricanes!
Don’t forget our meeting with the Raleigh MG Club on September 18th. We need a good turnout for this one since they are always at our show.
Speaking of shows, the Raleigh MG Club is having their show on October 2nd at the Prime Outlets in Morrisville again this year. Pat & I are attending, and I hope we can get some of our members to join us. The Fairfield Inn is right at the show’s site, so we don’t have to drive through town to get to our accommodations. Anyone interested in caravanning up with us can call me at 270-4880. We will be running up Hwy 421 and Hwy 55 so we don’t have to run the Interstate. You can get all the info about this show on our website. Hope you can join us.
Keep in mind October 30th. We are trying to get at least 12 cars to go to the Boys & Girls Homes at Lake Waccamaw. We plan on having a cookout and giving the kids a ride around the compound. The folks at the Home are really excited about us coming over since the kids are pretty much limited as far as activities. There are sixty (60) kids ranging from age 9 to 18 years of age. I think surely we can find time to give these orphans a little bit of enjoyment. However, the response from our members so far has been less than encouraging. We still have a little time to put this together, but we need to confirm as soon as possible.
The orphanage provides the facilities and we’ll provide the hamburgers, hot dogs and condiments. I will be calling all the members to try and get a firm commitment to attend. If we can’t get at least 12 or more cars we’ll have to call off the event, and I know 60 children that are going to be sorely disappointed.
